May 18 is International Museum Day

By Hardwick & Pendergast, P.S. on May 13, 2014

Washington Personal InjuryOne of the many perks of living in such a diverse metropolis as Seattle is having ready access to premier museums that provide visitors with a direct connection to the past, different cultures, new ways of thinking, and art. With new exhibits and events each season, there’s always something new to learn and explore in our city’s many museums.

May 18 is International Museum Day, making it the best time to discover the many benefits and joys of visiting and supporting local museums. At Hardwick & Pendergast, P.S., we’d like to encourage everyone to celebrate this unique day no matter where you live.

Experience Music

Located in downtown Seattle, the EMP Museum gives visitors an up-close-and-personal experience of music, pop culture, and interactive technology. You can explore the history of grunge music, experiment in a recording studio, and perform on stage all in one day. Even the futuristic building is a sight to see, having been modeled after guitars and the raw energy of music. The EMP Museum is also an educational resource, providing community programs for music fans of all ages.

Explore Seattle’s History

Seattle has a rich history that dates back to ancient times. The Suquamish Museum gives visitors an in-depth understanding of the culture and history of the Puget Sound Salish Tribes that lived in the Puget Sound region for more than 10,000 years and Seattle’s namesake, Chief Seattle of the Suquamish Tribe. The Nordic Heritage Museum follows the history of Scandinavian immigrants as they traveled from the Nordic countries of Europe all the way to the Pacific Northwest. And the Wing Luke Museum of Asian Pacific American Experience highlights the stories of the hardships and successes of early Asian-Pacific settlers in the Pacific Northwest.

Indulge in the Arts

Whether you’re a fan of modern art or prefer the classics, you’re sure to find inspiration at the Seattle Art Museum, which houses an extensive collection of art from around the world. The Chihuly Garden and Glass allows visitors to step into a world of natural beauty and artistic ingenuity. A labyrinthine forest made of glass, a stunning glasshouse, and unique garden create a beautiful experience worth taking on more than one occasion.

The attorneys at Hardwick & Pendergast, P.S. hope you reinvigorate your thirst for knowledge and sense of curiosity on International Museum Day!
