Planning the Perfect Super Bowl Party

By Hardwick & Pendergast, P.S. on January 27, 2014

Washington Personal InjuryYou don’t have to love football to love the Super Bowl. It’s always a great excuse to eat snacks and just chill with a fun group of friends. In many ways, Super Bowl parties are more fun than other holidays because you don’t have to dress up or spend hours in the kitchen. Planning the perfect Super Bowl party and raising the fun quotient just requires a little imagination.

Super Bowl Food

Forget about your diet for the day. There are many traditional party foods that are associated with the Super Bowl and few of them are considered healthy. Potato chips, cheese dips, chili, chicken wings, pizza, salsa, beer, and soda are staples at these parties. These are perfect foods for this event because they are easy to serve and most of them taste as great by the fourth quarter as they do at kickoff.

To cut down on costs, ask each friend to bring a drink and a snack. That way, you’ll only have to provide a couple of food items to supplement what everyone else is bringing.

Tips for a Great Party

As long as you have plenty of drinks and snacks, you are going to have a fun gathering, but here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Forget about table foods. No one wants to sit in a dinning room during the big game. Plan for finger foods and handhelds that can be eaten in any room.
  • Consider additional TVs. Depending upon how many people you have over, it may be useful to have a television in more than one room.
  • Have an additional sitting area. You will likely have a group of friends who really want to watch the game and another group who are more interested in talking. Consider having a sitting space that is separate so that the two groups can have their space.
  • Stock up. Even if your friends are bringing drinks, you should probably stock up on beer and soda. Every other commercial is for beer, so it will be on your mind throughout the game.
  • Show your support. Not everyone decorates for the Super Bowl, but if you want to, consider team colors. The team colors for the Denver Broncos are orange and navy. The Seahawks are all about blue, silver, and bright green.
