Drive Safely during the Fourth of July Holiday

According to AAA Travel, 40.8 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from their homes during the July 4 holiday. Although this is a slight decrease compared to the 41.1 million people who traveled last year, it remains that a high number of people will be driving on our roadways. The AAA report states that 46 percent of travelers this year plan to begin their trip prior to the start of the holiday travel period, which is July 3-7. The largest share of travelers (32 percent) on a single day will depart July 3, and the largest share will return on July 7 (38 percent).
