Three Motorcyclists Killed in Washington Crashes

Three people were killed in two separate motorcycle accidents that both occurred on Highway 101 in Western Washington over the weekend. The Seattle Times reports that the first fatal motorcycle crash involved a collision between two people on a motorcycle and an oncoming car north of Shelton. Officials say a 48-year-old man from Graham and a 50-year-old woman from Spanaway were killed in that crash. The following afternoon, two motorcycles collided head-on on a curve south of Quilcene. In that crash, a 26-year-old Lacey man died at the scene and a 45-year-old man from Port Hadlock was airlifted to a nearby medical center.

These fatal crashes are a tragic reminder of the common nature of Washington motorcycle accidents. Since May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, this is a good time for all motorcycle riders and car drivers to remember to share the road.
