Child Killed in Washington State DUI Crash

A 9-year-old was killed in a Washington car accident, which authorities say, involved a suspected drunk driver. According to an Associated Press news report, the fatal accident occurred on Highway 16 in Gig Harbor. Officials say the 26-year-old driver may have been drinking and smoking marijuana when he lost control and rolled his car. The driver and the 9-year-old boy were ejected during the crash. The boy succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital and the driver may face homicide charges. An 8-year-old girl in the backseat who was wearing a seatbelt was not injured.
